LexisNexis’ Concordance is one of the most popular applications in litigation, and an excellent tool for document & discovery review. As a Concordance Certified Software Administrator (CCSA), I have had the unique opportunity to work with end-users, database administrators and “power users.” Over the years one thing is always constant – one of us is never as smart as all of us. The ability to share our knowledge, in addition to our mistakes and shortcomings, can assist in developing the most honed skill set. Concordance 2007 & Linux – it works!

As you may know, I am a large proponent of open-source and Linux based applications. Almost all of my computers that have a version of Windows installed also has a copy of a Linux distribution. Several have multiple distributions partitioned on one machine. I was testing Concordance 2007 with a copy of Ubuntu Linux 8.10 and was able to install and run Concordance 2007 using Wine 1.1.13, a Windows operating system emulator for Linux!
